| Are my data going to be used for anything else but invoicing? |
| Unless you provide your consent, your personal/professional data will not be used for anything but producing a legal invoice. In the case of software purchases, your data will be linked to your software license, allowing for identification when contacting technical support.
In any case, even if you provide your consent to use your data to inform you about conferences, course, etc., you will at all times be able to request (either by fax, phone or email) to have your data erased from our system.

| Why are all these data about me necessary to buy a book? |
The Polytechnic University of Valencia requires the information that you need to provide prior to every transaction in order to correctly produce a valid invoice.

| Can I find these same items cheaper somewhere else? |
All the books, reports and software packages sold are produced (at least partially) by the ITA. The reports and books edited by the ITA are not supplied at a lower cost than the one quoted on the Internet.
For those editions issued through other publishers, the books may be available in other distribution channels of scientific literature. In these cases, although we do not guarantee the lower prices, it is quite usual to find the same item at a much higher price somewhere else.

| My order has arrived but the invoice is not included. |
All Internet orders receive by regular mail an official invoice issued by the Polytechnic University of Valencia. In order to deliver your order as quickly as possible, the items and the invoice are shipped separately.

| Who is actually selling these goods? |
The ITA is a joint organization of the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the Regional Government of Valencia. All on-line sales are directly managed by the Polytechnic University of Valencia through its CTT (Innovation, Research and Technology Transfer Support Centre).

| I am trying to complete my order but I am asked to join Verify by Visa. Why? |
The bank that has issued your credit card probably requests that you should join the program Verify by Visa to prevent an illegal use of your card through the Internet. You should check with your bank the actual conditions for your credit card.

Yes the bank processing our credit card transactions uses Verified by Visa and MasterCard® SecureCode™ to help prevent fraud in Internet shopping.

| Is my credit card data stored by ITA anywhere? |
No. Unlike some other Internet sites, all data concerning payment with credit card are not stored by the ITA. Since payment is directly handled by a bank, you can be sure that the information related to your credit card is not processed and/or stored outside this bank.

| Who handles my credit card payment? |
The credit card payment is handled directly by the Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo. This bank collaborates with the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Following this procedure, no one which is not related to the bank will have access to the information related to your credit card.

| Is it safe to use my credit card when shopping in your website? |
Our website is protected by encryption technology of 128 bits (SSL 3.0, RC4 cifered with 128 bits (high); RSA with 512 bits exchange). This prevents any person to have access to your credit card data through the Internet. In comparison to giving your credit card in a restaurant to pay the bill, shopping in our website is much safer.

| What happens if I am not at home/at the office when my order arrives? |
The courier service will leave a notice to be contacted. For security reasons, it is demanded from the courier service that a receipt is signed after a succesful delivery.

| The cost of my shipment is extremely high. What can I do about it? |
All shipments are made by international courier. Although ITA has achieved very good fare, the cost of shipment to some countries is quite high. In order to reduce the cost of shipment per item, you can try to combine a higher number of articles in a single shipment.

| How will my order be shipped? |
All orders are shipped by courier without exception. The reason is to guarantee a reasonable time for delivery and the quality of shipment.

| If the order is sent outside Spain, is it subject to taxes? |
No. However, the price of the items is different in Spain and abroad. If you are buying from outside Spain, the price quoted does not included the Value Added Tax (VAT). In this case, you may be subject to local and custom taxes at the country of destination. All items are shipped declared as books and educational material.

| Can I buy if I do not live in Spain? |
Orders are accepted from almost anywhere in the world. The shipping price is calculated depending on the country of destination.

| How is the shipping cost calculated? |
The shipping cost for each order is automatically calculated as a function of the selected items (their weight) and their final destination. Every order may have a different shipping price and no minimum handling fees are applied.
