Abstract
Demand Management Programs are already a fact in water policies undertaken by leader countries in water resources management world-wide. However, in Spain, such programs are still rarely considered. After a general approach to the subject, and to the situation of Spain in particular, this paper will deal with the typical measures that form a program of this kind. Figures and references will be given, in addition to considering an organized structure for that purpose. All these are the basic steps to pose the subsequent economic analysis that must be evaluated when designing the program. Finally, a simple example will be presented to illustrate the proposed ideas.
