Resumen
Water distribution systems are often sectorized in order to enhance management efficiency. Sectorization implies to divide the network into several compartments (or sectors) of smaller size, which enable system operator to obtain a better knowledge of leaks and incidents, a better resources evaluation and a better pressure control. When sectors are equipped with flowmeters, the sectors are called District Metered Areas (DMAs), and water entering or leaving the sector can be measured. Continuous or intermittent night flow measurements are habitually carried out, as a way to identify the sectors where the leakage levels are higher. (...)
